It is the same in our lives as Christians. There are times when it just gets hard. But it is then that we learn what it means to walk by faith and not by feeling. You can’t live a victorious Christian life only on the emotional and physical levels. To really experience the victory you have in the Lord, it is imperative that you learn to live in the spirit and walk by the spirit. When the flesh is weak and the mind is exhausted, you must still be able to walk through the life-giving power of the spirit. Learning to walk and run by faith is part of spiritual maturity.
