1 Samuel 3:10
God is always speaking. We just do not hear Him because we are not tuned in to His voice. For example, when we turn off our radio, the signal is still being sent out, we just cannot hear it because we have chosen not to listen. Hearing God’s voice is a conscious choice, and in order to hear Him, we must be tuned in and listening for Him to speak.
In Old Testament times, God spoke to believers in various ways, including through dreams, prophets, and angels. Today, now that we have the Holy Spirit with us to help us recognize it, God often speaks to us in subtle ways. He often speaks to us in such quiet, simple ways. His voice can come to us so ordinarily that you may not even know that He is the one speaking to you.
But once you get past the notion that you can only hear God through magnificent, loud, supernatural ways, it becomes easy to recognize the still, small voice. He uses that quiet and gentle voice to shape our hearts and protect and guide us in every circumstance of life. Let Him speak to you.
Prayer:
Open my ears to your voice, O Lord, and guide me.Scriptural Reading:
