And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” —

Genesis 26:22

A King had a boulder placed in a pathway and hid himself to see if anyone would move it. Some of the King’s wealthiest citizens came by, walked around it, blaming the King for not using the taxes to keep the path clear, but did nothing about the boulder. A peasant came along the road carrying vegetables. He put his burden down, walked around the boulder, put his shoulder against the stone and pushed it to the side of the road. He noticed a purse in the place of the boulder. He opened it and found gold coins and a note by the King saying, “The gold was for the one who removes the boulder from the pathway.” The lesson is simple; obstacles present opportunities.

We usually think of opportunity as our own luck to take a significant step ahead in life. Looking at your life, do you recognise that the opportunities that have come your way came from God? He is the one who goes ahead of us to make way for us. He is the one who opens double doors for His servants. He is able to cut through bars of iron and break down gates of bronze to bring His children to a place of favour. Maybe you are going through the toughest period of your life, don’t be afraid, your worst circumstance may be God’s best opportunity.

God has prepared great opportunities for those who never give up and keep on trusting Him. No opposition, accusations and schemes of the enemy can stop your divine opportunity. Never give up! Keep hope alive! Trust Him! He will surely open a double door for you.

Prayer:

Lord, open my eyes to see the opportunities you have for me; lead me to discover hidden treasures.
