What does it mean to be dedicated to God? A life that is dedicated to God is eager to know Him; we can’t love someone we don’t know, so knowing Him should be our priority. Those dedicated to God also pursue God and His righteousness and are consumed with the things of God. Those dedicated to God are also eager to study His Word, eager to pray, eager to obey and honour Him in all things, and are eager to share Jesus Christ with others. By these spiritual disciplines the love for God grows and matures to the glory of God.Matthew 22:37
Loving God with all your heart is key; because your relationship with God affects everything in your life. It’s impossible to love God too much; however, it’s easy to fall short of loving Him with all your heart.
In order for you to love Jesus completely consider these initial steps:
• Start with the Bible;
Open it and search out what it says about the glory of who Jesus is and what He has done. If you don’t know where to start, just go to the Gospels.
• Make adjustments;
What are you going to do that will not glorify God?
• Be with Him;
He delights in you. He wants to be with you and reveal Himself to you, set time aside to be with Him only.
• Pursue Him;
Just pray to the Lord: “Jesus, I long for You to be my ultimate treasure. Help me to do so.” Pray this throughout the day.
If the question of what can I do for God is on your mind, then He says love Him – be devoted to Him and you will truly encounter His glory.
