2 Peter 1:17
• The brightness of God’s presence.
• The manifestation of God’s power.
• The magnificence of God’s kingdom.
Our fallen human nature has no glory. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” It is Christ who brought the glory of God to mankind. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” The glory JESUS had was unique to Him. It came from God who was described as the Excellent Glory.
How does the glory of Christ manifest in us? In the account of the transfiguration in Matthew 17:1-5, we see three ways:
Jesus’ Face (v2). His face shone.
The glory must reflect in our person and nature. When we carry the glory of Christ, there must first be a personal transformation from darkness to light. When we accept Christ as Lord, we begin to reflect His glory.
Jesus’ Clothes.
The brightness of His garments speak of our lifestyle, appearance and attitude. The glory of Christ is manifested in our outward appearance. It leads to public transformation.
Bright Cloud.
The cloud is a reminder that we carry the majesty of God’s kingdom wherever we find ourselves. We are ambassadors for Christ.
Prayer:
Father, help me to reflect the glory of Christ in every facet of my life.Scripture Reading:
