Deuteronomy 2:2-3
There are times when you examine your life and conclude that you are going round in circles. You look at where you were three or five years ago and wonder whether you’ve made progress, retrogressed or simply been stagnant. Activity is not always an indication of progress or effectiveness. Israel spent 40 years skirting the wilderness in a cyclical journey that could have been completed in days. Similarly, Peter confessed to Jesus in Luke 5:5 that they had toiled all night and yet had caught nothing.
Unproductive cycles can be a result of wrong positioning, unfavorable circumstances or poor strategy. They can also be a result of our disobedience, bad habits and wrong choices. Whatever the cause might be, these cycles lead to frustration, disappointment and despair. God charged Israel to stop going round and turn northwards. God is saying to you today: “Enough of the cycles of uncertainty, fear and stagnation.” It’s time to locate your direction and move straight to your inheritance. May every repetitive cycle of unfruitfulness, retardation and stagnation be broken in your life. And may you abandon every choice that has repeatedly hampered your progress in the past.
