THE THINGS PURSUING US.
Paul talks in verse 13 about forgetting the things that are behind. The things you are running away from can push you into excesses and misdirect you. Your fears, limitations, background, past mistakes or faults can work against you. It can lead to an obsession to compensate for something you lack. We must leave them behind us.
THE THINGS THAT WE ARE PURSUING.
Again in verse 13, Paul talks about reaching forward to the things which are ahead. Our principal source of strength must not be the things pursuing us. It must rather be the things ahead of us. Our hopes, dreams and aspirations must be the principal focus of our efforts. We must be enveloped by a burning desire to leave a legacy.
How do we attain Perfection?
• Know yourself as God knows you.
• Be what God wants you to be.
• Be more and more Christlike.
• Press towards perfection in all that you do.
When you get these principles right, you will continue making progress and accomplishing great things for God.
