Matthew 20:1-2
We have been recruited by God as agents in bringing about His purpose. God is a working God. In John 5:17, Jesus said, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” What work does God do? 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 sums up God’s work and our role. God has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and subsequently given us the ministry of reconciling the world to him. Verse 20 says, “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
God is in the business of building the lives of people, taking them out of sin, bondage and darkness and bringing them to salvation in Christ. We are God‘s ambassadors or accredited representatives in this work. Like the master in the scriptures, he found us and called us into His vineyard. Do not devalue this work if you have the privilege of being a partaker. Service to God is the greatest thing on earth. Next time someone asks, let them know that you work for the most prestigious organisation in the world; employed by the creator of the universe.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for the privilege of serving in Your vineyard.Scripture Reading:
