Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, “Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: ‘I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD.’ ” —

This is a case of a divine turnaround. Hezekiah was sick and about to die. His time was up. The prophet Isaiah had been sent to confirm it. You can call this a case that was biologically and spiritually settled – signed, sealed and delivered. Hezekiah refused to accept the judgement. He went weeping in prayer and appealed the verdict by reminding God of three things – his INTEGRITY, his LOYALTY and his OBEDIENCE. Within that same hour, God reversed the decree and added fifteen more years to his life. His earnest prayer attracted long life and an assurance of God’s divine protection.2 Kings 20:1-6
Many of us give up easily and accept every negative report, verdict or diagnosis from our doctor, lawyer, employer or fiancé. Hezekiah’s experience shows us that even when a negative end has been authoritatively decreed concerning you, it is still not over because God is able to turn a hopeless situation around in your favour.
This is a season to call upon the name of the Lord your God. I don’t know what gloomy prediction, report or prophecy you may be battling with. It may sound conclusive and irreversible. But we serve a God of a second chance. Just as He did for Hezekiah, He is able to turn your hopeless situation around and give you a new lease of life.
