In three days, we will start a New Year. We will start each day in faith and live one day at a time till the end of that year. With all that we have seen happen in 2020, the prospect of a new and unknown year can be unsettling. It can be especially so since we are entering the New Year without resolving all the challenges that came our way this year.Psalm 121:2-3
We are all aware that we need help for the coming year. Who will help us? Where will we find help? Our help comes from the Lord. The same Lord, who is the Ancient of days is our Help. He has been our help in ages past and our shelter from the stormy blast.
What is our Helper capable of? Usually, when someone promises you help, you size the person to see if they can offer the needed support. So is the Lord able to help us? What are His credentials?
Our Helper made the heavens and the earth. God cites His creation to back up His ability to help us. Not only did He make the heavens and the earth, but He also sustains them. The Creator and sustainer of the universe is our helper in 2021.
Our Helper does not slumber. He doesn’t lose attention. In life, some people can promise us help and later forget their promise. Others promise to support and are unable to find time to get us the help. The Lord is a helper who does not forget or lose focus. Events will not overtake Him, and He will never be fatigued.
As you enter 2021, embrace the Lord as your Helper. Trust Him to lead you and show you the way. He is a Helper who does not sleep. He works every moment, all day, week after week, through the months and through the ages. He will watch over you.
