So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. –

Luke 2:6

There’s nothing more powerful than to be in the right place at the right time. God synchronized Mary and Joseph’s movements and location with the time He had appointed for Christ to be born. From the time the angel made his announcement to Zacharias, to the angel Gabriel’s message to Mary, God was working out His will. He also used a political decree to initiate a whole set of actions that were perfectly timed to Mary’s labour contractions.

When Mary and Joseph got to Bethlehem, it was time for Christ to be born. Just think of all the things that could have gone wrong but didn’t go wrong. We serve a God of perfect timing. God’s timing is not merely the timing on our clock or calendar. His timing is that moment when all the things He’s working on, fit together.

Mary and Joseph might have experienced many anxious moments on the journey to Bethlehem. They had times when they thought they couldn’t make it on time to Bethlehem before the baby arrived. Yet in all their anxieties, the Lord of the Universe had His hand in all that was happening.

God has appointed a place for you. He knows when He has scheduled for you to get there. Along the journey, you will have moments of anxiety. Sometimes it would seem as if you will never make it to the place God wants you to get to. You will have moments of doubt when you would feel like time is not on your side. Be encouraged! God will get you to the appointed place, right on time.

All that Mary and Joseph had to do on the journey to Bethlehem was just to keep moving. That is also all that God wants you to do. He wants you to trust Him and keep moving. Don’t stop because of the pain and discomfort. Just keep moving in the strength of the Holy Spirit. Trust the Lord to get you to where you’re going on time.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, You are always on time. I trust You to get me to where You want me to get to on time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
