Accos ak'-os (Hakchos): The grandfather of Eupolemus, whom Judas Maccabeus sent with others to Rome in 161 BC, to negotiate a "league of amity and confederacy" (Macc 8:17). The name occurs in the Old Testament as Hakkoz (haqqots), who was a priest in the reign of David (1Ch 24:10).
