Meaning
Shebam (fragrance), one of the towns in the pastoral district on the east of Jordan; demanded by and finally ceded to the tribes of Reuben and Gad. (Numbers 32:3) It is probably the same as SHIBMAH, (Numbers 32:38) and SIBMAH. (Joshua 13:13; Isa 16:8; Isa 16:9; Jeremiah 48:32)
