The "palm" gave its name to Phoenicia and to Phoenix in Crete, Act 27:12, RV. Jericho was the city of "palm trees," Deu 34:3, Jdg 1:16, Jdg 3:13, 2Ch 28:15. They were plentiful there in the time of Christ.
