Meaning

Us * The oblique cases of hemis, "we," are the genitive hemon, "of us," the dative hemin, "to us," the accusative hemas, "us." When the nominative hemeis is used, it is always emphatic, e.g., Joh 11:16, "(let) us (go);" lit., "we, let us go;" 1Th 5:8, "let us ... be sober," lit., "we ... let us be sober." Sometimes the oblique cases are governed by prepositions.
