is "a vision in sleep," in distinction from a waking vision, Mat 1:20, Mat 1:2-13, Mat 2:19, Mat 2:22, Mat 27:19.

is, lit., "what appears in sleep" (en, "in," hupnos, "sleep"), an ordinary "dream," Act 2:17. For synonymous nouns, see VISION.

akin to A, No. 2, is used in Act 2:17, in the Passive Voice, in a phrase (according to the most authentic mss.) which means "shall be given up to dream by dreams," translated "shall dream dreams;" metaphorically in Jud 1:8, of being given over to sensuous "dreamings," RV, AV, "dreamers," and so defiling the flesh.
