Flood
"a deluge" (Eng., "cataclysm"), akin to katakluzo, "to inundate," 2Pe 3:6, is used of the "flood" in Noah's time, Mat 1:24-39, Luk 17:27, 2Pe 2:5.

"a river, stream, torrent," is translated "flood" in Mat 7:25, Mat 7:27; in Rev 1:12-16, AV, "flood," RV, "river." See RIVER, WATER. signifies "carried away by a stream or river" (A, No. 3, and phero, "to carry"), Rev 12:15, RV, "carried away by the stream" (AV, "of the flood").
