"shrinking, timid" (from okneo, "to shrink, delay"), is used negatively in Phi 3:1, RV, "irksome" (AV, "grievous"), i.e., "I do not hesitate;" in Mat 25:26, Rom 12:11, "slothful." See GRIEVOUS, SLOTHFUL.
