"to guard, keep, preserve, give heed to," is translated "to reserve," (a) with a happy issue, 1Pe 1:4; (b) with a retributive issue, 2Pe 2:4, 2Pe 2:9, AV (RV, "keep"); 2Pe 2:17, 2Pe 3:7, Jud 1:6, AV (RV, "hath kept"); Jud 1:13; (c) with the possibility either of deliverance or execution, Act 25:21, AV (RV, "kept").
