Self, Selves <1,,844, automatos>

"of oneself" (Eng., "automatic," "automaton," etc.), is used in Mar 4:28, Act 12:10. See ACCORD, B, No. 2.

<2,,846, autos>

"he," also means "self," in the reflexive pronouns "myself, thyself, himself," etc. (see, e.g., HE), expressing distinction, exclusion, etc.; it is usually emphatic in the nominative case, e.g., Luk 6:42, Luk 11:4, Joh 18:28, Rom 8:16, RV, "Himself."

Note: In Joh 16:27, "the Father Himself (autos)," Field (Notes on the Translation of the NT) remarks that autos stands for automatos.
