Sudden, Suddenly

"sudden," occurs in 1Th 5:3, where it has the place of emphasis at the beginning of the sentence, as olethros, "destruction," which the adjective qualifies, has at the end; in Luk 21:34, it is used adverbially, RV, "suddenly" (AV, "unawares"). See UNAWARES.

"suddenly," occurs in Act 2:2, Act 16:26, Act 28:6.

a strengthened form, akin to No. 1, occurs in Mar 13:36, Luk 2:13, Luk 9:39, Act 9:3, Act 22:6.

a later form of No. 2, occurs in Mar 9:8.
