a poetical and late form of No. 2, "of swift approach," is used in 2Pe 1:14, RV, "swiftly" (AV, "shortly"), lit., "(the putting off of my tabernacle is) swift," i.e., "imminent;" in 2Pe 2:1, "swift (destruction)." In the Sept., Pro 1:16, Isa 59:7, Hab 1:6.
