is used frequently in the Gospels for the twelve Apostles, and in Act 6:2, 1Co 15:5, Rev 21:14; of the tribes of Israel, Mat 19:28, Luk 22:30, Jam 1:1, Rev 21:12 (cp. Rev 1:7-8, Rev 12:1); in various details relating to the heavenly Jersalem, Rev 1:21-21, Rev 22:2. The number in general is regarded as suggestive of Divine administration.
