is used of birds, Mat 23:37, Luk 13:34; symbolically in Rev 12:14, RV, "the two wings of the great eagle" (AV, "two wings of a great eagle"), suggesting the definiteness of the action, the "wings" indicating rapidity and protection, an allusion, perhaps, to Exo 19:4, Deu 1:32-12; of the "living creatures" in a vision, Rev 4:8, Rev 9:9.
