κανών kanṓn, kan-ohn'; from κάνη kánē (a straight reed, i.e. rod); a rule ("canon"), i.e. (figuratively) a standard (of faith and practice); by implication, a boundary, i.e. (figuratively) a sphere (of activity):—line, rule.
