† II. עֵיבָל proper name, masculine or of a people name in Edom, Genesis 36:23 ( Γαιβηλ), = 1 Chronicles 1:40 ( Γαιβηλ), A Γαοβηλ Ουβαλ); according to Glaser^{Skizze ii. 426 possibly} = foregoing (above) (compare with name of (god) Bēl, Wkl^{Geschichte. Israel 120; Alttest. Unters. 117 f.}).

Gerizim (mountain of blessing, south of Shechem), Deuteronomy 11:29, also Joshua 8:30, Joshua 8:33 (D); Γαιβαλ (connection with above √ dubious; on בל = Bēl, compare Gray^{Prop.
